4WD adventure to Lemako Falls
I'm back after a long hiatus due to me being lazy. Haha. Came back from Malaysia - Lemako falls over at Endau Rompin, near Kahang. We took a 4WD in and YES my butt hurts.. The trip was fun although we were behind schedule, hence no hike up to the waterfalls, only the area around the campsite. Quite a relaxing trip, with a chance to drive the 4WD in the jungle, which is NOT EASY at all.. and I drove the one with AUTO gear!! oh well. A total of 7 rigs (4WD) were deployed to bring our group to the campsite. During the trip in, the 1st adventure we encounter was a tire punctured in one of the rigs. While changing the tire, the rest of us went down to "kaypoh" and take photos... and attracted huge leeches.. I'm glad that I stuck to my decision to stay inside the 4WD as my rig mates brought back leeches after their bout of "kaypohness".. hahaha... The 2nd adventure happened to the rig in front of the one I was in, aka Rosalind's rig. While going up a particularly steep slope, the vehicle had to reverse as it had not enough power. Not only that, the passengers had to alight and walk up, while the driver drove the 4WD up again... meanwhile, the passengers were attacked by leeches, and Rosalind saw stripes on them. This explains why they were huge.. since they are tiger leeches... The 3rd adventure also happened to Rosalind's rig since I could see it.. They almost turned to the right side while going through a mud puddle... The driver is skillful.. while the passengers were freaked out.. haha.. No further hiccups, or that I know of occur and we arrived at our campsite safely. We set up camp, played in the water/river, had bbq dinner, and chill out.. and of course went to sleep in the nice cool weather... The next morning, we too went to maximise our time with the river, had breakfast, jump shots, break camp, more cam whoring, and the main highlight of the whole trip - a chance to drive a 4WD in the jungle terrain!!! It is like driving a normal car, except that we need to control the wheel more, as it seems to have a mind of its own - it follows the terrain... so chances of going of course is high.. so hands must be on the steering wheel with utmost concentration... We all had our fun and proceed for our long journey back to civilisation. Along the way, another rig blew its tire and another rig decided to take a short cut, getting stuck in the mud instead... oh what fun those passengers had.. Boon Yee videoed it as evidence of her adventure (since it was her rig that got stuck..) We finally had lunch at Kahang, and I think they are not used to handling such a crowd at one go, since they kept mixing up our orders... boo... after lunch we finally set off back to JB, with a few minor hiccups on the only "ORIGINAL" vehicle (apparently it is common to modify 4WDs to give u a better experience.. The 4WD I was in had a supra engine!! power!!) we all arrived at the customs and made our way back, stinking up and blocking the public transport with our smell and bags.. wahahahaha...
