December is fast coming to an end and I am pretty much satisfied with it. Apart from weddings and birthdays, I had a staycation with Lixian over at Pulau Ubin over 17/18th weekend, enjoying a fish spa which felt like a sonicator. My colleagues reminded me that I'm not at work therefore I shouleed the fish, and Lik touched the fish. Haha.. Our cycling were even more pathetic. We cycled to the jetty area (which is like the "town central") for lunch, back to the resort, cycled out to the same place for dinner and back again to rot at the resort. During the staycation, we were lucky to see a flock of Hornbills, and unlucky enough to feed some mosquitoes (me) while observing the Hornbills. LOL. We also opened our Bacardi cocktail drinks using our keys. Sad thing was, by the time we managed to open the bottle, we had to re-chill our drinks.. That was how long it took. It was an relaxing trip, a good weekend getaway, and pretty much cheap considering we bought a deal off deal.com.sg.. Last I check, it is going at $30/person min 2 to go, which do not include any lobster pasta lunch (we gave that a miss since we went to church instead).
The following week is Christmas! Where gifts are exchanged (I received a number of chocolates) and more meetups with my dearies. So much so my Christmas eve was quite pack, not that I am complaining. On 23rd, the pineapples had a sleepover at Huiru's house, and the next morning, I rushed home, change and grab the stuff for my afternoon picnic with the Divas (who are my poly classmates). Had a fun time with them, we should do it again soon.. I so love picnics. =D After the picnic, went back for dinner with the family, followed by Christmas mass at the Cathedral (which was packed to the brim). After mass, the family dropped by Bishop's place, where I had my annual dose of Christmas Prawn Crackers courtesy of Fleur. =) From there, I proceeded to CJIJMES to meet with Lik and we ended up at Starbucks instead because we are quite misers. Haha. Arrived home about 3+am on 25th Dec. Woke up around 8am to skype Jessie, and went back to sleep again.. I practically slept my Christmas day away. :)
December is also a time where I had to clear my leave and went to Universal Studio Singapore (USS) today with Maybelline and her cousin. AWESOME! I don't mind going back there again. Of the 3 must take roller coaster rides, my favourite was the Revenge of the Mummy. I guess all the effects help. Battlestar Galatica is simply exhilarating - both Human and Cylon. Another brilliant ride is the Transformers ride. It is not just a simulator ride.. Another thumbs up for USS is that lockers are free for the first 130 minutes. Enough (well almost) time for you to queue and take either one of the 3 coasters. Lockers are situated near the rides too! How convenient. However, I do find that USS is lacking in terms of uniquely theirs merchandises, comparing to Disneyland, especially in terms of candies/food/chocolates. Over at USS, the candies sold there are mainly commercial ones that can be bought outside. I only saw 3 different boxes of cookies that are uniquely USS, and they are packed in the packaging of Shrek, Fiona and Madagascar. Nevertheless, I had an enjoyable time in USS. =D
as for the remaining of my leave, I'm leaving for Taiwan (Taipei) on the 30th Dec to 6th Jan. Till then!

I'm now officially 24 years of age, plus 1 day. Do I feel my age? No. But sometimes, I do find myself getting older, with friends getting married left right and centre. As mentioned before, weddings is a great place for meetups. Who need school reunions? Just the other day I attended Edmund and Winnie's wedding dinner and sat at the UQ table. There I caught up with the couple (for a teeny weeny bit) and my housemate, who in turned caught up with his coursemates (who were sitting at the table.. since I knew the couple through my housemate..) Comparing the two Uni friends weddings I attended so far, sad to say I enjoyed the Dinner to the Church wedding. Both weddings I sat with people I do not really know. However, when it came to E&W wedding, we were all reminiscing the days as a student in Brisbane, and life now in general. It was more laid back, and relaxing. For P&L wedding, the topic were mainly on faith and growth. Maybe it was a CHURCH wedding, but I don't know. I hardly meetup with you guys and here we are catching up on faith and which ministry you are active in? Perhaps I felt it was stuffy because I cannot share with them, afterall, I go to church but I am not in any ministry. Does that makes me a bad Catholic? I feel inadequate with them sometimes. Better meetup in a secular settings, with people of different faiths, hence religion won't be the topic of the day.... I mean, it is good you are growing spiritually, but I also want to know what's up with your life too...
Met up with some of my poly mates too. B&J on Friday, where we went ventured into LV Maison.. Initially we were hesitating, since we all felt we were not dressed adequately, especially Johnson. But since we saw people in casual dressing entering the premises, we decided to follow. Upon stepping at the doorstep, there was a staff who opened the doors and greeted us (what brilliant service. I bet they knew we were there to just look around.) The smell of leather greeted us as we enter and we decided to explore the area. Being female, I went straight to look at the shoes since the bags are "readily available" everywhere, with B&J following. I saw a pair of wellingtons that is super heeled and heavy. I showed it to the guys, asking them "how to walk in these? And it is heavy!" Johnson decided to give his "professional" view of it being bad for the leg (podiatrist in making) whereas Ben said it looked like what someone will wear at a fishmarket. HAHA.. Ben was being an idiot the whole time, stirring shit.. I seriously think he is part timing as a sewerage collector instead of an admin asst. LOL..
On Saturday, I went to JB with my 2 fellow divas, Afiq and Daniel... Well, there was supposed to have more people joining us, but they backed out last minute. Oh well. Small group also good, easy to maneuver around. I was tempted to buy Diesel products there as there was a sale. Tempted only, since the stuff with the super attractive offer was not yet available and I was kind of lazy to change money, hence no purchases. We watched Arthur Christmas though. It was HILARIOUS!! I think the 3 of us were pretty loud, laughing like nobody business throughout.. Haha.. It helps that we only paid RM11 per person! That is like less than $5! We ate a lot too! I think I ate too much heaty stuff (such as Chocolate Banana Crepe) that I think I am falling sick. Didn't help that I went to Kasap on Sunday. I had my ayam special over at machap, followed by some dinner at some restaurant (zhi char) cos popo said she give me a treat since it was my birthday (actually I rather she cook prawns and meatballs for me.. but beggars can't be choosers.. maybe we should tell her in advance.. haha.. think if we stayed on longer I probably get to eat some prawns today, but alas that did not happen.. guess I have to wait till CNY, which is not too long away, for my prawns and meatballs) and durians for dessert.. SHIOK.. Not forgetting some mangosteens.. Durians and mangosteens.. bliss.. =D Then on Monday morning (today), I had my standard roti chenai for brekkie (we almost had something else, but grandpa could not wait and said to go eat roti chenai.. much to my delight). Nice yummy fluffy crispy roti chenai (prata) that was way much better than the one I ate on Sunday morning. They changed their "chef", which produced nicer roti chenai! The previous dude who made them more doughy.. less crispy and thin.. I can be a prata connoisseur! ya right.
